The brand Scott USA (obviously named after Ed Scott) was then born and they expanded their market by providing goggles for motocross riders which was then followed by motocross wear.
It was in 1986 that Scott offered mountain bikes to the public. Their invention of aerodynamic handlebar brought them to the top of the game because of the major impact it made in the cycling community. The company then had to reach to a wider market, thus prompting them change their name from Scott USA to just Scott in order to give importance to the jump of their brand to the European market.
